[Disaster Report] Flood caused by heavy rain in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The heavy monsoonal rain caused flood in Jakarta.
Authorities raised the flood alert to its highest level on 17th of January.
Rains had stopped since 18th afternoon, and the flood has receded in large parts of Jakarta including the city’s business district by 19th.
The floods forced 19,000 people from their homes, and at least 11 people have died. About 250,000 people have been affected by the disaster.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) prediction, heavy rains expected to hit next week and the flood will peak again.
The damage caused by the flood will continue to spread.
